One Lap of America 2014 - The Road To South Bend

One Lap of America always starts in South Bend, Indiana. This is the fourth year we will be competing in the event.
This year we are competing in the SSGT1 Big Bore category in a 2014 Corvette Stingray.
Our trip crosses a few state lines:

Ohio:

And we always stop at Corky and Lenny's Deli in Cleveland. It's half way to South Bend, and they have great food!

Our first year was in 2010 and our One Lap car was actually a truck - here we are at New Jersey Motorsports Park with the Dodge SRT-10 pickup truck. Our family even visited us!

In 2011, we couldn't go due to a severely disabling tennis injury.
But we were back in 2012 in the Camaro. That was the year the front of the car fell off. We persevered, painted teeth on the front bumper support and finished the event.

We also got to visit family in 2012, they not only fed us and sheltered us, but drove down to see us compete at Hallett, in Jennings, Oklahoma.

In 2013 we were back in the Camaro, one of the highlights of the trip was getting to drive at Daytona!

Tomorrow we have tech inspection and the driver's meeting, and then the event officially starts on Saturday, May 3rd, 2014.
