Ingrown Toenails-whether they are caused by poor nail cutting technique, or a nail deformity where the nail curves into the nails groove, they can be painful and disabling. Fortunately, they can be easily treated and we have treated thousands successfully. Whether a relatively simple excision of an ingrowing border is needed or a permanent remodeling of the nail to prevent future issues, these office procedures are Safe and Effective. Do not allow an ingrown toenail to cause pain any longer.

Ankle Sprains
Ankle sprains are caused by an unnatural twisting or force on the ankle bones of the foot, often resulting in one or more ligaments on the outside of the ankle to be stretched or torn. If not properly treated, ankle sprains could develop into long-term problems. Read More...

Heel Spurs

Image result for red painfl heelPlantar fasciitis (or heel pain) is commonly traced to an inflammation on the bottom of the foot. Our practice can evaluate arch pain, and  may prescribe customized shoe inserts called orthoses to help alleviate the pain.We make every effort to treat this problem efficiently so as to minimize time off from your activities. An initial visit can be expected to have imaging studies (Xray or ultrasound or both) to eliminate causes other than plantar fasciitis. Anti inflammatory injections are the mainstay of initial treatment for fast relief along with stretching, splinting and the use of orthotic therapy. All therapy used in our offices is clearly backed by many years of experience and credible medical evidence. If conservative (non operative) therapy should fail after an adequate trial, then surgery is an option. At this time there is no credible evidence to support the use of radial shockwave therapy (investigational and therefore almost never covered by insurance) or Platelet rich plasma (found to be about as effective as a cortisone shot but many times more expensive) again, not likely covered by insurance.  Many people benefit from the use of activity appropriate shoegear professionally fitted by either Bridget Edelman C,Ped, a certified pedorthist or Debra Merrell a certified medical shoe fitter. In certain cases the shoegear may be insurance covered.
