Platelet Rich Plasma

Platelet Rich Plasma

Platelet Rich Plasma has become popular without a lot of evidence that it actually is better than other, less expensive methods.

It is safe, but not necessarily effective.

In an article published in the Journal of the American Podiatric Medicat Association (Nov/Dec 17) the conclusion was that while PRP was useful in plantar fasciitis, it was no more useful than a steroid injection, and much more costly. In the same article no complications were observed with steroid injections either.

If you are interested in PRP, we can arrange it for you at a cost of 400.00 which is generally not covered by insurance.
